SSS Diecember® Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp DieCember® Blog Hop! The fun starts at the Simon Says Stamp Blog. If you've been following along you should be arriving here from the blog of my sweet and talented friend, Barb Engler. Be sure to comment at all the stops as Simon is giving away a $25 coupon at each stop!

The full Diecember® Release can be found HERE:

I'm sharing a couple of cards today, both featuring Simon's new Sensational Snowflakes Die. Here they are:

For my first card I used the Sensational Snowflakes Die to create a fun shaker card. I die cut a piece of Neenah White Cardstock and backed it with a piece of acetate from Hero Arts. I built up the back of the cardstock with foam tape, being sure that none of it would show through and that the added sequins would be completely trapped inside. The sequins are a mix of Lucy's Cards and some other sequins I had on hand. Once backed with my notecard, I added a white heat embossed sentiment. (Supplies used are listed at the end of the blog post).

For my second card I cut out multiple snowflakes and added them to a background inked up with Distress Oxide Inks, splattered with water, and spirtzed with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spray. I added a piece of vellum cut using Simon's Wonky Rectangles to tone down the colour behind the greeting. The sentiment is cut from Simon's Black Cardstock using their Merry and Bright die set and was coloured with a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker.

In case you missed it, I shared this card on my blog yesterday featuring Simon's new Evergreen Circle Die:

Hi everyone! Happy Diecember!

Simon has just release some fabulous and fun dies along with with some gorgeous 6x6 Glitter Papers, perfect for diecutting! The full release can be found HERE.

Today I'm sharing a card made using Simon's brand new Evergreen Circle Die.

I diecut Simon's beautiful new Evergreen Circle Die from Neenah White Cardstock and inked up the background pieces with Distress Oxide Inks. I spritzed the pieces with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spray, flicked them with some Picket Fence Distress Paint, and added some White Opal Liquid Pearls. Once dry, I pieced everything together on the front of a notecard and stamped a sentiment from Simon's So Very Merry Stamp Set. (All products used listed at the end of the blog post).

Before I go, here's peek at a couple of cards I'll be sharing tomorrow featuring Simon's new Sensational Snowflakes Die as part of a blog hop to celebrate Simon's new Diecember Release:

SSS Laura's Grid Backgrounds & SSS December Card Kit Winner

Hi everyone!

I'm popping by today to share a set of cards I made using Laura Bassen's brilliantly designed grid-related products. She designed these for Simon Says Stamp. I had SO much fun playing with these products to create my own backgrounds. Backgrounds are my favourite stamps to work with and I was totally in my element coming up with my own background designs.

For the card with the circles, I stamped the Grid Play Background with Simon's Barely Beige Ink on Neenah Desert Storm Cardstock and used Simon's White Pigment Ink to stamp the circles. All the other backgrounds were stamped using only Simon's White Pigment Ink. The additional stamp sets used to create the backgrounds were Simon's Grid Play Clear Stamps for the cards with the blue, orange, and red backgrounds, and Simon's Live Well Stamp Set for the card with the green background. Once the ink was dry, I coloured the images with Prismacolor Pencils. I matted the stamped panels with Neenah White Cardstock before adding them to backgrounds with coordinating colours. The white heat embossed greetings were stamped with a sentiment from Simon's Brush Stroke Messages and the cards were finished off with various enamel shapes.

Before I go, the winner of the Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit is...

Rhodé who said...

SSS December Card Kit: Glittery Ornaments & GIVEAWAY

Hi everyone!

I'm back to share another project featuring the Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit.

I recently purchased the Altenew 3D Ornament Dies and couldn't wait to play with them. I thought the beautiful Tonic Glitter Papers would be perfect to use with them.

I die cut the pieces needed and adhered them together, being sure to add my silk ribbon before them were completely together. I used Hero Arts Mini Clothes Pins to help keep them together as they dried. I then added some of Simon's Colorful Confetti to each triangle. I made tags from the Doodlebug Milk and Cookies Papers using one of Simon's Bundle of Stitches Dies and decorated them with sentiments from the same papers and images from the Doodlebug Milk and Cookies Shape Sprinkles and Doodlebug's Sugarplums Shape Sprinkles. Finally, I slid the tags over the ribbon and they were ready to hang up.

While making the ornaments I did add a bell inside the blue one so it will ring when shaken. I thought it would also be fun to make advent ornament to count down to Christmas. While putting the ornaments together, I could add a bible verse or some candy and one ornament would be opened a day from December 1st to the 24th. This paper from the Doodlebug Milk and Cookies Papers could be used to make tags for each day:

Here are some close ups of my ornaments:
