Congrats, Marcie! Please email me with your shipping info so I can pass it on to Simon. :)

Earlier this month, after participating in the Simon Says Stamp You Have My Heart Blog Hop, I decided to come up with different ways of using Simon's new Stepping Stones Background Stamp. Besides my blog hop post (embossed resist and colouring in the circles), I shared ideas HERE (making windows) and HERE (embellishing inside the circles with buttons, brads, sequins, etc).

For today's card, I decided to die cut shapes inside the circles and back them with patterned paper. Alternatively, you could just put die cut shapes on top of the stamped panel.

First I heat embossed the Stepping Stones image onto Neenah 110 LB Smooth Solar White Cardstock. I then die cut stars using Simon's Large Holiday Shapes Dies into the centers of the heat embossed circles. I die cut this panel as well as a piece of Lawn Fawn woodgrain patterned paper, using one of Simon's Stitched Rectangles Dies. I used papers from Various 6x6 Paper Pads to back the negative die cut stars before adhering this panel to the woodgrain panel on an angle. I then adhered this to a card made from Neenah Desert Storm Cardstock. Using Simon's Dark Chocolate Cardstock, I die cut the 'Happy' from Simon's Happy Birthday Die three times, layered the pieces and adhered the sentiment to my card. I white heat embossed the rest of the sentiment from Simon's Happy Stamp Set onto a strip of orange cardstock, adhered it to the card, and finished it off with some yellow Enamel Dots.

Simon Says Stamp February Card Kit - DIY Die Cut Background (& GIVEAWAY!)

Hi everyone!

I'm back to share a final card using the fabulous Simon Says Stamp February 2016 Card Kit.

For today's card I decided to use the fun little Simon Says Stamp Mini Hearts Outline Dies to create a custom background on a panel of Simon's Black Cardstock that was die cut using the largest of Simon's Stitched Rectangles Dies. I die cut a whole lot of of the Mini Hearts Outline shapes from Simon's Cotton Candy Cardstock and adhered them all using Ranger's Multi Medium Matte Adhesive in a Quilled Creations Precision Tip Applicator Bottle. I then filled a Ranger Mini Mister Spray Bottle with water and some Ranger Perfect Pearl Perfect Pearls, shook it up, and spritzed the whole panel to give it some shimmer. Once dry, I adhered the panel to a notecard made from Simon's Black Cardstock using foam tape. I cut out the 'lots of love' sentiment from a piece of the Crate Paper Hello 6x6 Papers and using more foam tape backed it with another piece of patterned paper from the same pad. I adhered this matted panel to the card front using Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive Tape Runner before adding a few of the die cut heart centers.

Here's a picture of the card facing the window so you can see how the Perfect Pearls catches the sun...

Simon Says Stamp February Card Kit: Yay! It's Your Day (& GIVEAWAY)!

Hi everyone!

I'm back with another card to share using the fabulous Simon Says Stamp February Card Kit. This kit is great for cards for Valentine's, Hello, Congrats, etc.

I decided to make a wedding card and wanted to focus on some of the beautiful Crate Paper Hello Love 6x6 Papers. The floral paper I used is absolutely GORGEOUS! I decided to pair it with the more bold/modern stripes. I silver heat embossed a strip of cardstock to place between the patterns. The heart was die cut from Simon's Cotton Candy Cardstock using one of Simon's Nested Hearts Dies. The sentiment was stamped using Simon's Hello Beautiful Stamp Set and the heart was adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The rest of the sentiment was white heat embossed on Simon's Black Cardstock Finally, I embellished the card with a heart from the Crate Paper Hello Love Epoxy Stickers and a couple of Crate Paper Hello Love Sequins.
